Saturday: It's All Over!

The giant megalopolis was left behind as Damiao's driver took me away through the forest of giant buildings... off to board a 777 headed for San Francisco.

From the hotel room look at the policeman directing the crazy traffic..

Re-Route over Osaka and Tokyo - shame we couldn't stop for lunch.

I picked up my new glasses in the morning, bought a kite for someone special in the airport, and that was it! Coffee in the executive lounge then 10.5 BUMPY hours - instead of heading straight north it was due east over Japan before heading up to the Aleutian Islands, they said they had to change their route but never said why, because of the roller coaster ride at times I am thinking weather. I had also read North Korea was on the verge of launching something, so who knows. I was so numb I didn't care anymore...but it was a ride.

After meeting Kathy, Brent and little Wyatt for a few hours in Calgary, where we went for Japanese steaks, the trip was over - Shelly and Wendy kindly picked me up at 11:30 Saturday night and it was done!

It was fun though - I am now just wondering where all the money went.

To those that wanted pearls, get in touch, I have them.

Oh ONE LAST THING: It made me laugh... right by the loo in the hotel room is a small button to press in case someone knocks on the door when you are busy on the pot!

It's called a "wait a moment" button, and a little sign illuminates like the "do not disturb" by the room door to alert your caller... Every home should have one (?) But that's Asia for you...

Next Stop, Sydney & Singapore (February) - See you then.
