Old Shanghai on Thursday, after going to find Gua Shua tools and pearls for people who had asked for them _ Gua Shua is a form of massage in case you wonder - I had left the battery on the wall charger in the hotel though so no pics all morning, kind of a shame as it was sunny and there was a street full of pets for sale!
This is Dongtai Street full of old bric a brac, Mao alarm clocks, fake antiques as well as real and a weid collection really..
Colourful though
The pet market is close by, well another one to the street from earlier, they said there were insects for sale too.. actually there was nothing exotic here at all.
But they are mostly crickets, male Shanghainese want crickets and a few similar bugs as pets...
Very dark and smelled like a pet shop!
Birds too
There were some plant shops like these bonsai and cycads
Turtles
Chinchillas I think
Outside more stuff for sale, and Shanghai has lots. I won't bore you witht he shopping stories, but Marks and Spencer's rated high, the pearls and gua shua I can mark off complete, thank you Damiao for finding the gua shua shops, and I didn't see one Mickey mouse thing here.. for those that asked :(
I met Audrey and Damiao for supper and we went to a vegetarian place which is weird, they make vegetarian meat, you would never know their ham and chicken were not, taste, texture, amazing. Audrey and Damiao are off to Hong Kong Friday morning so it was good bye to them - they have been awesome !
Back at the hotel a lady was doing her Tai Chi and some tourista was joining in.
Either that or she's throwing me a karate chop! Ha!
I don't know where the time went today, just wandering around.... lol.
